How to cleanse the lympathic system and improve the circulation of lymph
The lympathic system is an extremely important part of the immune system. Its mission is to collect waste substances from intracellular space and transmitting it to the kidneys and intestines where they are processed and expelled from the body. For the lympathic system to function, it is necessary to take care of it – it needs to be clean and lymph needs to circulate properly and smoothly through our bodies.
To avoid a delay in the circulation of lymph, the most important is the physical excercise and the introduction of sufficient quantity of fluid in the body, at least 2 liters of water daily. The proper diet helps cleanse the lymph and the best one is based on raw fruits and vegetables, especially green leafy vegetables, wheat grass, garlic, seaweed, walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, sunflower seeds and pumpkin, radishes, kale and citrus that alkalize the lymph. The pomegranate is full of powerful antioxidants and it is recommended to consume one glass of pomegranate juice every day. The compresses of castor oil put on the lower abdomen improve the cleansing of the lymph. It is also very helpful to brush the skin with the brush made of natural fibers – you should dry brush your skin from feet to the heart. It is also recommended to take a variety of herbal tinctures made of red clover and herbs ehinacea and astragalus.
Massage, in particular the lymphatic drainage, performed by specially trained physical therapists helps to improve the circulation of lymph. It is extremely useful to massage the area around the breasts and armpits in order to remove liquid from the lymph nodes located there. The sauna also stimulates the work of lymphatic system – it activates the sweat which contains toxins accumulated in the body. The warm-cold shower is also good for improving the circulation of lymph – hot water expands veins and cold water collects them. This way of improving lymph circulation is not recommended in case of high blood pressure, heart disease and pregnancy. Simple exercises like jumping on the trampoline or rope jumping every day, due to increased pressure on the lower parts of the legs during landing, improve lymph circulation better than walking.
The blood in the blood vessels encourages the pumping of the heart. Since the lymph doesn’t have an organ to encourage the circulation, it is recommended deep breathing, which also helps to detoxify the liver and kidneys. Yoga exercises also stimulate lymphatic circulation. Even Hippocrates treated back pain by tying people to the legs facing head down – this posture, with the feet up and head down, helps improve the flow of the lymph.
Russian healer Gennady Petrovich Malakhov for the lymph cleansing recommended potion made of 25g of fresh leaves of clover and 5 g of fresh leaves of raspberry and St. John’s wort. Just pour a cup of boiling water over it and let it rest for ten minutes. It is necessary to drink two to three cups per day for 2 weeks.
Ayurvedic way of cleansing lymph uses a potion made of Indian gooseberry (amalaki) – use half teaspoon of amalaki, add 4-5 chopped mint leaves, squeeze lemon and sweeten with honey or stevia.
