Dry brush of the skin – the essential part of the detoxification process
The benefits of detoxification of the body through which body releases the accumulated toxins and cleans itself are well known. It is also known that the lymphatic system is very important for our organism and It is the essential part of the detoxification process because it helps us get rid of the toxins from the body. Unfortunately, a lot of people do not pay attention to the skin, although it is our largest organ and a very important part of the expulsion of toxins from the body. The skin is not only the largest organ and covers the entire body, but it is also very important part of the detoxification – through the skin ¼ of the toxins is ejected during the process of detoxification. It also allows our bodies manufacture vitamin D when we are exposed to the sunlight. These are the reasons why is it extremely important to pay attention and take care of our skin so it can successfully continue the process of cleaning our body and thereby enable us to be healthy.
The best way to clean our skin is a process of dry brushing. This process is known since ancient times, when our ancestors have used dry maize ears to brush their skin. In modern times, dry skin brushing was popularized thirty years ago by the Finnish doctor Paavo Airola. Dry skin brushing removes old and dead skin and helps the development of the new young skin, removes excess cellulite, tightens the skin and muscles, improves digestion, cleanses the pores of the skin and allows it to breathe. We relieve stress, but the most important benefit is that it improves our circulation and blood and lymph flow, thus automatically helping our immune system to facilitate the work of the kidneys and liver, stimulating at the same time the endocrine glands and hormones. The process of dry brushing is very simple and inexpensive and it is recommended to perform it every day for 10 to 15 minutes. It is best to do the brushing in the morning, before shower because our body accumulates toxins during the night and brushing helps to accelerate the process of detoxification. If you feel bed it is recommended to brush your skin twice a day.
For dry brush we need a brush made of natural fibers or rougher towel. The process of brushing begins with legs that should be brushed from the fingers up, then move on to the hands which also need to be brushed of finger to shoulders. After the hands and feet, we brush the back of the neck down and abdomen from the bottom up. In principle, always brush towards the heart because it is the natural flow of lymph and circulation in the body. After brushing, it is recommended to shower with hot and cold water. Brushes should be washed once a week with soap and water and let it air dry so it doesn’t create mold or fungus.
The dry brush of the skin is part of our detox and weight loss program at Hotel Medena. We also do peeling mixture made of coffee and olive oil to encourage regeneration and skin cleansing, lymphatic circulation and stimulate the work of the entire lymphatic and immune system.
